Founded as a Roman city, Barcelona became the capital of the Counts of Barcelona and the Crown of Aragon. Besieged several times during its history, Barcelona is today an important cultural centre and a major tourist destination and has a rich cultural heritage.

Barcelona covers an area of 100.4 square Km and is estimated to have a population of 1.7 million people being the second most populous city in Spain and the capital of Catalonia. It is a major economic centre and one of Europe's principal Mediterranean ports.

Maremagnum

MaremagnumMaremagnum is a big shopping centre and, in addition, it is located in a wonderful area. It was constructed over the Mediterranean sea and it enlargues “Las Ramblas” being called “Rambla del Mar”. It’s not a high building but it’s very wide. It’s next to the marina and the Yacht Club as well as other attractions like the Aquarium and the IMAX cinema. You must arrive here walking though a wooden footbridge.

There are a lot of shops here with the main international brands of fashion, complements, books or decoration. There are cafeterias, restaurants and cinemas as well.
